February 2017 Board of Education meeting presentations
Bullitt Lick Middle School social studies teacher Dr. Doug Henry called the Thinking Institute the finest training he has ever participated, Overdale Elementary School teacher Elizabeth Sherry said the Thinking Institute gave her new ideas to implement into her curriculum. North Bullitt High School social studies teacher Monica Clark praised the content of a recent Thinking Institute organized by the district student learning department and school curriculum coaches. North Bullitt High School JROTC Senior Army Instructor Major Kevin Clark recognized Cadet Stephen McCullough for earning a four-year Army JROTC scholarship. Cedar Grove Elementary School’s Archery Team was recognized at the February 2017 Board of Education meeting for winning the Region 5 Archery Tournament for the first time in school’s history. The tournament was held Feb. 18th, 2017 in Campbellsville, KY. The team coach is Travis Whitworth. Eastside Middle School cheerleader Grace Cross also spoke during the February 2017 Board of Education while her coach, Carrie DeBold, and Board Chairperson Debby Atherton, listened. Eastside Middle School cheerleader Lauren Spaulding spoke during the February 2017 Board of Education as her coach, Carrie DeBold, listened. Eastside Middle School Cheerleaders representing the United States as the junior cheerleading team in the Olympic-based World Championship competition were honored at the February 2017 Board of Education meeting.
