Welcome to Bullitt County Public Schools. Over the course of the last eight years, our relentless focus has been to improve student achievement and opportunities. We have been successful at both. We have implemented a set of common instructional norms, unified and accessible lesson planning, professional learning communities, vastly improved parent communication through multiple avenues, and student achievement and attendance have soared. Our mission and beliefs are outlined below, but our driving force is a general dissatisfaction with the status quo. We want to be better every day. We have implemented large scale reform at both ends of the student achievement spectrum. We have a comprehensive system of academic interventions and recovery for those students who need it, and we have overhauled our system of Gifted Education to make it more rigorous, transparent, and engaging. We have created special programs for those with the goal of selective university attendance and different, but similarly comprehensive, programs for those whose goal is to pursue a path leading to more "blue collar" occupations. We value and honor both pathways, and all the choices on the continuum between the two. In short, Bullitt County Public Schools have been and continue to be on a upward trajectory and we have no intention of stopping - ever. We are here to serve our community. We support the arts. We prepare our future leaders. We strive to develop character through athletics and extracurricular activities.
