2019-20 Overdale Elementary Student Dress Code
The goal of our school dress code is to ensure students are comfortable while being safe and appropriate. All students have the responsibility to observe basic expectations of cleanliness and grooming. Each student is expected to dress in a manner that is appropriate for school-aged children and does not disrupt the educational process or create safety concerns.
Overdale Elementary has updated our dress code. Students will no longer be required to wear school uniforms.
Specific Dress Code Requirements:
Exceptions to the dress code may include school sponsored events such as hat day or other special dress days. Regardless of the type of day, safety and school-defined appropriateness will be expected.
School administration is authorized to take action where a student's attire does not meet the requirements set forth by the school.
Repeated offenses to our dress code will result in the following consequences:
- 1st offense: Teacher will notify home explaining the dress code violations. Appropriate clothing will be given to the student to change into (provided FRC has the appropriate sized clothing).
- 2nd offense: Phone call from school. Parent must bring appropriate clothing to change into.
- 3rd offense: Students will be given detention and the parents will have a meeting with school administration.
