BCPS Learning Model Selection: Spring Semester

BCPS Families, 

As we continue to navigate the 2020-2021 school year, it is important that we provide our families with input on the learning model for students this coming spring semester. Similar to this past summer, we want to provide the same learning model selection opportunity for the upcoming spring semester which begins on Monday, January 18, 2021, and ends on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. Below is a link to a form called the “BCPS Learning Model Selection: Spring Semester”. It is essential for our BCPS family to complete the form for EACH BCPS student in the household. The choice that each family selects will be the student’s learning model for the entire second semester and through the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year which ends on June 1, 2021.

Due to staffing considerations, there will be limited to no movement between in-person learning and Bullitt Cloud Academy and vice versa for the second semester. Please take this into consideration when making your learning model selection for your child(ren). The survey will close on Friday, November 20, 2020, at 4:30 PM.  Your child's current teacher(s) could change as a result of the number of students who change their learning selection model for the spring semester which will impact staffing. However, each level (elementary, middle, and high) may look similar to the current type of learning experience. This is true for both in-person learning and our students who are currently enrolled in the Bullitt Cloud Academy. Contact your child’s homeschool principal and/or counselor for specific questions. 

Please remember when selecting the “in-person learning” model changes may occur based on COVID-19 rates in Bullitt County. This means your child may be attending school through a variety of schedules: (1) in-person learning Monday-Friday, (2) A/B rotational schedule (secondary only), and/or (3) all remote learning. Students participating in the Bullitt Cloud Academy will maintain remote learning throughout the entire second semester. At times, your child may be required to come to a school site, for a time period, to take an assessment, participate in a hands-on learning activity tied to a pathway course, and/or a variety of other reasons.

We appreciate you taking the time to select your student’s learning model for the second semester no later than Friday, November 20, 2020, by 4:30 PM. Please take time to read the survey information so your family understands all aspects of your second-semester choice. Failure to complete the survey will result in your student(s) being placed into in-person learning. Please contact your child’s school if you have any follow-up questions.
