Bullitt County Public Schools began our energy conservation program in 2006. Over the past nine years, the District took the steps to hire an energy manager, passed a district energy policy, created a district energy plan, continues to promote energy efficiency and conservation, and made low/no-cost chages to reduce energy consumption.
BCPS eventually entered into an energy saving performance contract with Harshaw Trane in 2008 - providing necessary facility improvements such as new HVAC controls, improved indoor air quality, lighting, domestic hot water and boiler replacement, and a standardized building automation system.
Since the inception of the BCPS energy program, and as of the 2017/2018 school year - the district has saved approximately: $6,454,417
