Per federal regulation, all school cafeterias participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) must be inspected twice annually by the local department of health. The Bullitt County Health Department (BCHD) inspects Bullitt County Public Schools cafeterias.
According to BCHD, a satisfactory score is 85% or above with no critical violations.
BCPS also complies with local regulation 2015-1, which requires food service establishment staff to obtain Food Handler certification and maintain certification every three years. BCPS collaborates with BCHD annually to provide this training and examination to all food service staff.
