East SLAM hosts successful Spring Fling

Spring Fling

On Friday, April 22, BEHS’ own Student Leaders and Motivators (SLAM) hosted a Spring Fling for all students. After being rescheduled due to COVID-19 back in the winter, SLAM was excited to host this dance for our BE students to have an opportunity to get together and have some fun.

SLAM is a group of students that plans school and recognition events, organizes pep rallies and spirit weeks, and overall works to beautify Bullitt East. These students pour their love for BE straight into the source, working to enhance our campus and community for the betterment of all students. This is the fifth year SLAM has been active, and the fourth year it has been active under adviser and Spanish teacher Ms. Maddie Mann.

The Spring Fling saw a great turn-out, particularly after previous years impacted by the virus! With 99 students in attendance, SLAM was able to even raise a profit that will go straight to future programs SLAM intends to host, as well as aiding some of BE’s leadership students’ travels to the Jostens Renaissance Global Conference in Orlando, FL, this summer.
