You can share some love with the Bullitt County Foundation for Excellence in Public Education by purchasing tickets to its annual fundraiser.

The 2019 Valentine Gala is Saturday, Feb. 9 from 7:00 p.m. until midnight at the Paroquet Springs Conference Centre in Shepherdsville. Tickets are $60 per person (plus tax) and can be ordered by calling Sharon Ellingsworth or Sherry Gentry at (502) 718-5976 or (502) 657-8998.

Ticket sales are busy,” Ellingsworth noted. “Get your tickets now to reserve your seat.”

The gala begins with cocktails at 7:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 8:00 p.m. The Whiskey Tango Band plays music for dancing starting at 9:00 p.m. with raffles scheduled at 9:30 p.m.

Money raised by the Foundation is invested in schools through a competitive grant process.

After a few years of hosting a Kentucky Derby themed event in the spring, Foundation directors went in different directions (western and tropical) to appeal and attract an audience.

This is the first time the event is centered around the heart holiday and the earliest it has ever been scheduled.

Superintendent Jesse Bacon said the Foundation does excellent work in teaching and learning throughout the district.

“Please make plans to attend this year’s event in support of the many contributions the Foundation makes toward educational excellence in Bullitt County,” he said.

The Foundation also raises funds through donations and payroll deductions. The money is given back to schools through competitive grants.
