One of the best things about Mount Washington is the community. Community members are vital to our school community. The landscaping at Crossroads was tended to this weekend by about 15 members from Church of the Crossroads. These members weeded our gardens, removed bird and wasps nests, fixed the windows on our greenhouse that was damaged from by a storm, cleaned up our outdoor play areas and so much more. Thank you COTC for your partnership and working to make our school an inviting place!

Second grade students last week participated in an Authentic Learning experience. During this experience they heard from a local Farmers Market expert, Ms. Stacey. Ms. Stacey shared about our local Mount Washington Farmer's Market and then students created their own market! The third grade students came to the market and shopped! Second grade has been learning all about poetry! They have learned that poetry rhymes, has lines, stanzas, repetition, and rhythm. Today students listened to Taylor Swift's song "Shake it Off" to practice identify these features of poetry. To see their day in action use the link to view a reel of Mrs. Edwards class. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1335552767849775

Our school is being proactive in response to potential weather forecasts for tomorrow. Today, each student will be sent home with a Chromebook. BCPS hasn't made any decisions regarding school tomorrow at this time. However, our school is working to ensure we are prepared for any potential decision. Our hope and intention is to have a normal school day tomorrow.
