Holiday cheer is in full force here at Freedom this week! As we wrap up the week, here are a couple of reminders before we leave for winter break. 1) Please check the lost and found. We need them to be returned to their homes by Friday! Any remaining items will be donated. 2) December snack cart will be tomorrow (Thursday) instead of Friday due to the holiday parties on Friday. 3) Thursday's holiday theme is: Wear your favorite holiday shirt! Friday's holiday theme is: Pajama Day!

Our 2nd grade classes did some text features surgery today! They looked for bold print, illustrations, table of contents, and more text features in their nonfiction magazines.

Mayor Eden came to talk to our 4th grade students about the Hillview Food Pantry as part of the 4th grade Hunger Project. Please continue to send in your cans!

Still looking for a great gift for your kids? We have just restocked our youth size navy hooded sweatshirts and will have limited supply available for purchase at our Santa Shop next week! We still are looking for volunteers as well to help work at our Santa shop. Mrs. Axline’s class learned about the life cycle of chickens. They are proud to introduce you to their newest classmate, Oreo. A special thanks goes to the Walls family for providing this amazing opportunity.

Freedom's Chess Team participated in their first Tournament Saturday. They won 1st Place in the K-5 section. Congratulations to the team members: Alex Beattie Garrison Chandler David Collins Logan Cope Dawson Graf Kaline Henderson Alex Beattie tied for 3rd place out of 62 players in the K-5 section winning 4 out of 5 rounds. Alex Beattie and Garrison Chandler stayed to compete in the Bughouse tournament (times chess with a partner) and won 2nd place. Thank you for your participation! We are very proud of you!
