The kindergarten classes went on a school wide hunt looking for Pete the Cat. They were filled with excitement as they walked the halls and visited different rooms to find letters that were clues to the next adventure! Oh what a day!!!

Hello MWES Families - Just a bit of clarification about our Rooms points. This program is new to all of our staff and there are adjustments to make as we are learning. Please know that each teacher is handling points differently. Some track them on paper and enter them in one session daily, weekly or maybe even longer. Teachers don’t necessarily keep the platform open all day. They are busy delivering high quality instruction all day and may not take the time to enter points until the end of day. This does not mean they aren’t keeping track of the points, they are simply tracking them in a different format to enter later. Related arts teachers also have access to awards points. We also have implemented a system in the cafeteria for students to earn points. We ask for patience as we work together in this transition period. If you have a serious concern about points, please reach out. If your child's teacher has a concern about behavior, they will reach out. The goal for our August celebration is 25 points. Thank you!

This has been a full week of learning for our teachers along with preparing for the school year. It started with gaining information about a new reading and math curriculum, followed by open house, new teacher orientation, safe crisis management training and making adjustments to our positive behavior interventions and support plan. Thanks for all their efforts and enthusiasm. We continue final preparations next week to be ready to welcome students on Wednesday for the first day of the 23-24 school year

Nice People
Wonderful group!
Open House was wonderful! So many students came to see their classrooms, meet their teacher and drop off supplies. It looks like Mt. Washington is ready to grow great minds! See you next week.

Way to show up MWES! Students received free shirts and fidgets from the library and loved the books that were read. Mrs. Reibert read about Humpty Dumpty getting back up after a fall and another story was read about sharing. It was super fun to see everyone!
