Thanks to the Franklin family for providing our staff lunch. We all appreciated your thoughtfulness!

Wednesday was Junior Achievement in a day for grades K-4. We were so appreciative of the volunteers who came to teach the lessons to our students. They covered topics such as making choices, needs and wants, earning and saving, assembly line work as well as inventory and production. We might just have many entrepreneurs in our future.

The Lost and Found is still overflowing!! There are a lot of small sizes. Parents you work too hard to donate these clothes.
The Lost and Found will will out until Friday night.

Okay. I have to say this was one of my favorites. Second grade researched the Statue of Liberty and completed a building challenge. They had so much fun. They are finishing up this week. Best of all they can tell you all about the statue and what liberty means. -Mrs. Noe

Things were looking bright in the Second grade today. It was all a glow. Learning and having a great time doing it!

The MWES Lost and Found is over flowing! It will be left outside by our front doors all day and night until Friday. Please come up to see if your child has lost something.

Congratulations to these girls who competed in the Elementary State Meet. Bailee placed 1st in the Long Jump, runner-up in the 400 meter dash, and qualified to compete in the Middle School State Meet. Edie placed 2nd in the shot put. Violet placed 1st in the shot put and 2nd in the 100 meter. We are so proud of all their hard work and efforts. The team overall celebrated many successes!

Nothing better than camping and reading. This is exactly what our first grade team experienced at Camp Read. Along. The day included guest readers, making book marks, hearing campfire stories and many other adventures. The students enjoyed dressing in their pajamas and embracing the camping feel!

MWES family began to celebrate Mr.Kerr for his years of service in providing students an experience with the performing arts. He has organized the Winterfest entertainment, caroling at the Light Up MW to singing, playing instruments and learning about music in his classroom. We appreciate him and what he has given to our school. We wish him well in his retirement in just a few short days.

The first grade team enjoyed the nature and outdoors on this beautiful day! They studied rocks and clouds as well discussed animal habitats and went on a scavenger hunt. All the work was followed by a popsicle treat to end their at school field trip.

Happy Teachers' Appreciation Week!
Thank you A Plus for the delicious bagels for breakfast this morning!
Thank you to Hannah Hoskins of State Farm for the amazing cake for our after lunch treat!

Things were looking bright and "GLOW" much learning was happening in the fourth grade today. Students and teachers wore their neon and activities followed in theme. What a fun time!

Thank you PTA and 4th grade parents for hosting the most wonderful 5th grade Gala. The students felt so very special as they walked the red carpet looking absolutely stunning. Many photo opps with glamorous backdrops in the great hall while one end of the gym was filled by a creative display of snacks. The next couple hours were filled with limbo and hula hoop contest as well as strutting the cat walk. The best were smiles on the students faces as they and their parents danced the night away. So much FUN!!

It is Administrative Assistants Day! We have the BEST! Thank you for all you do.

Congratulations to our reading challenge winners! They were recognized at Literacy Night and at that time got to choose 2 books to order. Today they received those books and their certificates. Way to go Kayleigh, Gracie and Laurelynn!

APEX is off and running! In our last hours to get those pledges. Don't miss out on this last chance!

Look at what our students are doing in STEM;
The 5th grade completed a building challenge to build a prosthetic leg for a horse. They had to design a leg that fit comfortably, measured the correct height, could bear weight, and stay attached while the horse was shaken. They designed and redesigned their prosthetic until they built a successful device. They worked with their design teams to create amazing prosthetics.

Our STLP team went to Lexington on Wednesday. Here are some fun pictures from the day. What a great experience!
Awesome work team!!

Thanks to all those who were able to stop in last night. They all left with a book, puppets, tracing star and other strategies for dealing with your feelings. Our basket winner was Waylon . Congratulations!!! Thanks to the district employees, our FRC and teachers who made the night possible.

Come join us for SPOT night. You can have some nachos, learn about dealing with feelings and have a chance to win the basket held by Mrs. Franklin. We are here 5-7. So plenty of time to come enjoy the fun!
