Happy Veterans Day from Nichols Elementary!
This morning, the whole school gathered for the Pledge of Allegiance, as well as the singing of our National Anthem by our 4th and 5th graders. Our very own Mrs. Dawn Smith, Army Veteran, spoke to our students about what it means to be a Veteran and to answer the call in your heart to do the right thing. Together, we watched our Veterans Day slideshow which honors family members of NES students and staff. Our little community has SO many people to be proud of!
If you are still able to, hug the Vets in your life!

Veterans Day is coming! Every year, we show the students a slideshow honoring family members that were in the military. If you have a loved one that you would like to submit for the slideshow, please email either maggie.carnell@bullitt.kyschools.us or lauren.clark@bullitt.kyschools.us by this Friday, 11/8! Please include their name, rank/branch and a photograph! Thank you!

Nichols is excited about our Career Week for all students next week, 11/11-11/15!
Monday, we will celebrate Veterans Day. Wednesday, is a dress up day for "future career."
Then, on Friday, we will have career stations with our community partners and volunteers!
Students will also have a chance to purchase cotton candy from our business station, Kawaii Candy Cart. If students would like to purchase, they must bring $3 in cash the day of the event.
Please reach out to our FRC, Mrs. Luckett, with any questions: megan.luckett@bullitt.kyschools.us or 502-869-2600.

Starting tomorrow, Thursday 10/31, we have a short break from school! We will be back in school on Wednesday, 11/6!

Reminder: there is no Knights on the Run this afternoon!

Happy Halloween from Gru and the Nichols Minions!

Today, we held a mock presidential election along with our election for student council members! Congratulations to President Ace, VP Karly, Secretary Germany and Historian Peyton D!
