We appreciate you, Mrs. Clark!

Not only is it National School Counseling week, but it's also Family Resource and Youth Service Centers (FRYSC) Week! We have some amazing FRYSCs in BCPS, but we'd like to give a special shoutout to our very own, Mekayla Belcher! The Nichols center helps to provide food, clothing, school supplies, and much more to families in need of a little extra help. FRYSCs do whatever it takes to remove non cognitive barriers to success. With that little bit of extra help, all students can succeed at Nichols!
Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Belcher!

Hip-Hip-Hooray! It's National School Counseling Week!
We'd like to focus on the unique contribution of school counselors within our buildings and how our students are different as a result of what counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have in helping students achieve success. Every student deserves a school counselor to help with academic achievement
strategies, managing emotions, applying interpersonal skills, and planning
for postsecondary options. School counselors are standards based and
student focused!
Nichols would not be the same without our own school counselor, Mrs. Clark! Thank you for all that you do for our students, families and staff!

NES Weekly Attendance for 1/29-2/2!

We want to personally thank all the families who have already participated in our SchoolStore fundraiser! So far, over $900 has been raised! WOW!
If your family has not participated, there's still time! The SchoolStore fundraiser is 100% online so there is no face-to-face selling, collecting money, or delivering products. Your child will receive a prize just for participating, and more prizes will be awarded when goals are reached. Our SchoolStore website is also live for a whole year! This means that Nichols can earn money all year long from the Family Bookstore, the national online merchants and the donated Caring For Classrooms gift cards.
If you would still like to participate, please go to https://www.schoolstore.net/sid.t?0000180544 THANK YOU for your support!

January is National Mentoring month! Mentoring.org states that, "mentoring, at its core, guarantees young people that there is someone outside of their family who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter."
