Our BAMS students had an incredible opportunity to attend the High School Leadership Summit at Western Kentucky University.
Throughout the day, students met WKU President Timothy Caboni, participated in breakout sessions focused on topics like ethical decision-making and understanding personality types, heard from student-led panels, and explored the campus through college tours.
Students also had the opportunity to visit The Gatton Academy, giving them another firsthand look at one of the pathways available to them as they begin making informed decisions about their futures.
Experiences like these go beyond the classroom. They allow our students to grow as leaders, learn more about themselves, ask questions, explore new possibilities, and begin envisioning what their next steps could look like. We are so grateful for the opportunity to invest in the future leaders of BAMS and thankful to Western Kentucky University for creating such a meaningful experience for high school students! #BCPSBAMS #YourStory #MovingForwad #StudentLeaders

Rolling Their Way to the White House!
Students in Ms. Todd’s class put the Electoral College into action today with our Electoral College Dice Game! Working in teams, students competed state by state, rolling the dice to determine each state’s winner and adding those electoral votes to their total.
The activity gave students a hands-on way to see the difference between winning individual votes and winning the 270 electoral votes needed to become president. It also helped demonstrate how a candidate can perform well overall but still need the right combination of states to win the election. #MovingForward #YourStory #BCPSROC
Our US History students recently took on the ultimate trial: weighing the good, the bad, and the ugly of Gilded Age industrialists. Tackling the driving question: Did these leaders help America more than they harmed it?, students put titans like Carnegie, Rockefeller, and Morgan on trial to determine once and for all if they were true Captains of Industry or infamous Robber Barons. #MovingForward #YourStory #BCPSROC

At Bernheim, Ava took learning to new heights by using a drone to capture the forest and our fieldwork from a completely different perspective. As an Effective Communicator, Ava is learning that communication doesn’t always have to be spoken or written - digital tools and visuals can tell a story, share information, and help others see a place in a whole new way.
