Bullitt County Public Schools is thrilled to celebrate these exceptional individuals as they take this exciting next step in their academic journeys. Being chosen for the Craft Academy is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion for learning. As our district focuses on Moving Forward, these students truly embody the spirit of innovation and leadership that we strive to cultivate.
Since launching in August 2015, the Craft Academy has provided a college-level curriculum that allows students to finish high school while simultaneously completing up to two years of university coursework. The academic rigor challenges students to excel at their highest level, focusing on a core of math and science courses supplemented by electives in the arts and humanities.
Beyond standard coursework, the Academy offers unique, project-based STEM courses. These specialized classes enrich the educational experience, helping students develop critical real-world competencies in entrepreneurship and innovation, design and creativity, and civic and regional engagement.
The Craft Academy is made possible through the remarkable generosity of Joe and Kelly Craft, alongside vital appropriations from the Kentucky General Assembly.
BCPS wishes these 14 students the absolute best as they embark on this prestigious opportunity this fall. The district looks forward to formally recognizing and celebrating these scholars and their accomplishments at the upcoming July Board of Education meeting.
