SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY — Bullitt County Public Schools (BCPS) is proud to announce Bobbie Castleman, Custodial Supervisor within the district's Maintenance Department, as the official recipient of the district’s 2026 FRED Award.
The annual FRED Award recognizes outstanding classified staff members who exude an exceptional spirit of service, innovation, and commitment to others. Derived from Mark Sanborn’s bestselling book, The Fred Factor, the award honors individuals who, much like the passionate mail carrier described in the book, turn what others might see as ordinary, routine tasks into an extraordinary opportunity to make a positive difference.
Castleman was selected for his profound impact on the district community, his ability to build strong relationships, and his commitment to creating real value for others. Bobbie truly embodies the Core Value of Service Before Self.
While Castleman takes home this year's top honor, BCPS also wishes to extend a huge congratulations to the entire slate of outstanding nominees. Each of these individuals was nominated for demonstrating exceptional dedication and a true "Fred-like" spirit of service:

Whether ensuring student safety as an SRO, safely driving a bus, working in the cafeteria, maintaining facilities, or supporting our students and staff, these nominees represent the very best of Bullitt County Public Schools. Congrats again to these amazing individuals who keep BCPS Moving Forward.
