Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for helping make our first day of school such a success! It was wonderful to see our students back in the building, ready to learn and excited for the year ahead. Your students were a joy to have in the building today. They were well-behaved, respectful, and attentive in class. Their positive attitude and energy set the tone for what we know will be a great school year.

We know traffic was heavy this morning and this afternoon, and we truly appreciate your patience during drop-off and pick-up. Know that our staff is doing their best to make this process as orderly, efficient, and as safe as possible for your student. Please follow their lead, pay close attention to their instruction, and make sure you are making your student exit your vehicle quickly and safely.

Thank you again for your support and partnership. We are off to a great start, and we’re excited for all that’s to come this school year!

Welcome Back

Dear Bullitt East Families,
At Bullitt East High School, our priority is to provide an engaging, distraction-free learning environment for all students. To help us achieve this, we are clarifying our telecommunication device expectations for the 2025–2026 school year.
Expectation:
Students may bring telecommunication devices to school; however, all devices must be turned off and stored in a secured personal bag (backpack, purse, computer bag, etc.) during the school day.
This includes (but is not limited to): Cell phones, Smartwatches, Messaging devices, AirPods or other wireless earbuds, Headphones, any device capable of sending a message or receiving a call.

During the school day:
Devices should not be seen at any time except during lunch, provided their use does not disrupt the educational environment. Students are responsible for securing their devices and ensuring they remain off and out of sight during instructional time.

Consequences for Policy Violations - Per BCPS Policy
1st Offense: School warning - confiscation of the device until the end of the day - parent/guardian notification to pick up the device by appointment.
2nd Offense: Confiscation of the device for 1 (ONE) FULL school day - parent/guardian notification - 1 period of ISAP - The parent will pick up the device by appointment.
3rd Offense: Confiscation of the device for 3 (THREE) FULL school days - parent/guardian conference with a plan of action for no future referrals for the telecommunication policy (device will be released to the parent at this conference) - 1 Full day of ISAP
Subsequent Offenses: Additional and more serious disciplinary actions, up to and including suspension or loss of privilege to bring devices to school, may be applied.

These expectations are in place to protect instructional focus, minimize distractions, and ensure a safe, respectful environment for all. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these guidelines with your students before the first day of school. Thank you for partnering with us to keep our Chargers focused, prepared, and ready to succeed.

Go Chargers!

Dear BEHS Families,
To help keep our campus safe and traffic moving smoothly during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up, please follow the updated traffic pattern:
Morning Drop-Off & Afternoon Pick-Up Instructions:
Enter using the entrance nearest the building addition/construction site (Old Mill Building).
Turn right toward the construction site and wrap around the parking lot, heading toward BEHS.
This route helps keep traffic from backing up onto Hwy. 44.
Unload students between the flagpole and the end of the sidewalk in front of the library (See picture).
Please pull forward as far as possible to allow more cars to unload safely.
Exit using the football field entrance onto Hwy. 44.
Your cooperation helps ensure safety for all students, staff, and families while reducing congestion during these busy times. Thank you for your patience and partnership as we continue construction improvements to our campus. Doors will open daily at 6:55am.
Go Chargers!

Student drop off

Dear Charger Families and Students,

Welcome back to Bullitt East High School! As your new principal, I can’t tell you how excited I am to kick off this incredible school year. Whether you are returning for another chapter of your Charger story or stepping onto our campus for the first time, you are now part of a community that takes pride in who we are, where we have been, and where we are going.

At Bullitt East, we are guided by our three Big Arrows:
1. Improve Student Achievement – We believe every student can achieve more than they think possible, and we will give them the tools, support, and encouragement they need to make it happen.
2. Impact Positive Culture – This is more than a school; it’s a family. We celebrate each other’s successes, lift each other up during challenges, and make sure everyone feels a sense of belonging.
3. Enhance Supportive Community – We know that when our students, families, and community work together, amazing things happen. You’ll see that connection in everything we do.

This year, our theme is simple: Unrivaled. Being unrivaled isn’t about comparing ourselves to others; it’s about constantly challenging ourselves to be better than we were yesterday. It’s about setting a standard of excellence in academics, athletics, arts, and character that others look to with admiration. This year we will challenge ourselves and our students to think outside the box, dream big, take risks, and learn through truly authentic experiences.

Parents, you are an essential part of this journey. Stay connected, ask questions, and partner with us in your child’s success. Students, come ready to work hard, show kindness, and get involved. High school is what you make of it, and here at Bullitt East, we want  it to be unforgettable.

The first day of school will be filled with energy, high expectations, and the promise of what’s ahead. Let’s make 2025–2026 a year that sets the bar higher than ever before. Here’s to a year of learning, growth, and memories that will last a lifetime. Let’s show everyone what it means to do things the charger way!

School starts tomorrow, Tuesday August 12th at 7:20am. Doors will open at 6:55am. Please be patient, traffic will be heavy.

Go Chargers!

Chromebooks!!!

Chromebooks can be paid for and picked up in the library any day once school starts (Tue-Fri). The $35 fee can be paid cash, check or via Schoolcashonline.com. If you pay online a printed receipt will expedite that process but not necessary. There will be at least a 24 turn around period.

Currently, we are short about 50 freshman devices and a couple hundred chargers for the upperclassmen. Hopefully that issue will be corrected within the week.

Email kellie.davis@bullitt.kyschools.us with any questions about CBs or logins.

I'm excited to share that we’ve secured funding from the district to purchase Character Strong, a comprehensive SEL curriculum. Many of our elementary schools—and several middle schools—have already implemented this resource with great success.
