Dear Bullitt East Families,
I am writing to share an urgent update regarding student parking and our relationship with our local business community. Recently, several local businesses have contacted the school to request that students stop parking in their private lots. These businesses rely on those spaces for their customers and daily operations, and unauthorized parking creates a significant hardship for them.
We are aware that several student vehicles were nearly towed from one of these locations today. Fortunately, our staff was able to intervene, and we managed to avoid any vehicles being removed by placing warning stickers on windows instead. Please understand that this was a one-time courtesy; we cannot guarantee that we will be able to prevent towing in the future, this was a courtesy afforded to us by the business owner.
At Bullitt East High School, we do not condone students using the parking lots of neighboring businesses. It is vital that we remain good neighbors and show respect for the local companies that support our school and community.
We want to be clear: we understand the frustration. We are fully aware that we currently do not have enough on-campus parking spaces to accommodate every student who wishes to drive to school. We share your sympathy regarding this shortage, and we know it puts our students and families in a difficult position. However, despite the limited space on campus, parking on private business property is not a viable or permitted solution. We strongly encourage students utilize school bus transportation whenever possible to alleviate this issue.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us maintain a positive relationship with our Mount Washington partners.
Sincerely,
Joshua Lightle
Principal

We’re excited to support you as you prepare for your driver’s permit test!
To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend starting the No Pass/No Drive form process at least 10 calendar days before your scheduled appointment. This allows enough time for:
The student to complete their portion
Verification of student credentials
Required signatures to be gathered
Notification of completion (email to student)
Student pickup of the completed form
Processing typically takes 1–5 school days, depending on the volume of requests, staff availability, and the time of year. Please note that this is not a same-day or counter service process.
Breaks and holidays may cause delays. In these cases, we’ll share updates through Email, Text Messages, School Announcements, and Google Classroom.
Additional information is available on the school website under For Our Students.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Best of luck on your upcoming test!
