As we embark on a new school year, we want to pass along some important information for our Car Riders and Walkers. Please take a few moments to look at our Parent/Guardian Car Rider Responsibility Checklist. If you are in need of extra car rider tags, please use the QR below. Keep in mind that we are extremely limited on extras. Please only request what you actually need. We cannot wait to see our Braves tomorrow!

We look forward to seeing everyone at the Open House tomorrow from 4:30-6:30 PM. To ensure a smooth event, we have organized the schedule as follows: Last names A-L: Please meet in the gym at 4:30 PM for a brief meeting and teacher introductions, after which you will be released to visit the classrooms. Last names M-Z: Your meeting and introductions will take place in the gym at 5:30 PM, followed by classroom visits.

Thanks to Old Mill Elementary for hosting our Ed Camp. This offered teachers the chance to learn from other teachers and experts in the field. There were many topics and opportunities for our MWES staff. Can't wait to see them implement their learning in the classroom.

It was awesome to wrap up the summer reading program with MWES teachers and students that attended today. We will celebrate those who attended one of the 4 times this summer after we return to school. Hope you heard a book that you enjoyed or it encouraged you to want to read more!

MWES class assignemnts will be released via Parent Portal on July 15. Thanks to those students who came out today to listen to adventure stories at the Mt. Washington Public Library. The stories were about being a special gem and learning all about a worm. You have one more opportunity to join us on Tuesday, July 23rd at 1:00 for our last reading program for the summer. Hope everyone has enjoyed some books this summer!

Cross back-to-school supply shopping off your list and order your school kits today! Back to School Kits may be purchased by clicking on the following link: https://brightschoolkits.com/ Search for our school by entering Mt. Washington Elementary School. In addition to the school kit, you will have the option to add additional items that may be needed for each student (i.e. headphone's, backpack's, lunchboxes, paper towels, Kleenex, etc.) If you order supply kits by June 27th, you will have the option to have your order shipped directly to the school. MWES PTA will distribute the supply kits to your students' classroom once it is received.

Wow! It was so wonderful seeing so many MWES students at the Bullitt County Library. They enjoyed listening to camping themed books read by Mrs. Weihe, Mrs. Meredith and Mrs. Reibert. Plan to be there for our next scheduled date on June 18th as you do not know who may join the fun!! It all starts at 1pm.
