Our MWMS 8th grade Integrated Reading & Writing through Science students recently completed a Human Impact and Sustainability Podcast Project focused on issues affecting Bullitt County, Kentucky.

Through research, collaboration, and communication, students explored topics such as environmental stewardship, community sustainability, and the impact humans have on local resources.

We are proud of the critical thinking, creativity, and real-world connections they demonstrated throughout this project. Take a listen to their podcasts and hear their ideas for creating a more sustainable future in our community!

7th Grade Families: Information about the 8th grade trip for 2026-2027 will be passed out today in Crew.

8th grade Chromebooks and chargers will be collected ( and assessed for damages) on May 22.

*6th and 7th graders who will not be returning to MWMS should turn in their Chromebook and charger on May 22.

Here are the dress guidelines for students to follow for the ceremony. Students should arrive to BEHS by 5:30 pm on May 27.

Our final 8th grade pitch competition is May 20 from 1:15 to 2:00 in the cafeteria. Pitches for community-based business concepts will be given by 4th Quarter Business Students. Families and community members are welcome! Please bring a photo ID for check in.

We've just been informed by BCPS Transportation that there will be NO BUS 1968 this afternoon (Monday, May 18). Students will need to self transport home.

Sharing some information from the Bullitt County Health Department for summer camps:

We’re excited to share that our FREE Summer Day Camp for 2026 is now open for registration!

This year, we’ve expanded to a full 6-hour day (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM) packed with:
Cooking & nutrition education
Gardening activities
Physical activity
Arts & crafts

Just like last year, we would like to offer this opportunity to children enrolled in the summer backpack food program. Each day, campers will:

Prepare two recipes in class
Take home ingredients to recreate meals with their families

We’ve also increased capacity to 20 students and will be hosting camp at the Bullitt County Extension Office, giving us more room to grow and engage.

Pre-ordered yearbooks will be handed out TODAY (5/18) in CREW.

There are less than 60 yearbooks available for purchase that can be bought, beginning WEDNESDAY morning for $30 in the gym with Ms. Hutchins. (cash/check payable to MWMS). Purchase is a first come/first serve basis, no holding available.
