Her selflessness does not go unnoticed. Mrs. Hodges is always willing to step in, lend a hand, and support others without hesitation.

We were excited to welcome members of the Bullitt East FFA to Old Mill as they partnered with our 4th grade students for a meaningful, real-world learning experience!

Our students took on the role of young scientists, diving into mystery plant and animal cases. They worked to identify problems related to structures and survival, then developed well-thought-out solutions to address each situation.

With the support and presence of our FFA guests, students had the opportunity to share their thinking, explain their reasoning, and present their plans to an authentic audience. Experiences like this not only strengthen understanding, but also build confidence and communication skills.

We are proud of our 4th graders for the way they rose to the challenge and grateful to Bullitt East FFA for investing their time in our students and helping bring learning to life!

A huge shout-out goes to Tory Hibbs for her amazing heart and hard work in creating the Graduate Profile songs. Tory wanted the kids to lead the way, so she set up a special online community where students from every grade all the way from kindergarten to fifth grade could share what these goals meant to them. She spent a lot of time talking with every teacher at Old Mill to make sure she had ideas from every single level, using the students' own words and stories as the heartbeat of the project.

Turning those ideas into music was a real labor of love. Tory used an AI tool to help generate the songs, but she spent hours and hours fixing the lyrics and the sound to make sure they truly felt right. She even made sure they had the same great energy as the Character Strong songs the kids already love. Before finishing, she sat down with the students to listen to different versions, letting them help make the final edits. Thanks to Tory’s dedication, our students now have a soundtrack that truly belongs to them.
