🌟 Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Brianna Wampler at BES 🌟

Mrs. Wampler is a beautiful example of Students Matter Most! One parent recently shared how their child, Wyatt, can’t wait to get to school because of her kindness and the excitement she brings to learning. “She’s kind to everyone, Mom,” he said, and that kindness is creating a classroom where students feel seen, supported, and inspired.

Thank you, Mrs. Wampler, for sparking joy, building confidence, and reminding students that learning can be both meaningful and fun. Here’s to the #theBESt year yet!

📚 Spotlight on Innovation at Bernheim Middle!

Congratulations to Ms. Laura Mann, who recently presented at the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) National Conference (her third national presentation)! 🎉

Ms. Mann shared how Bernheim’s newly designed library space is inspiring student-led learning through Book Clubs, tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPGs), and creative engagement strategies that promote literacy and leadership.

Her work is a powerful example of being both Future Focused and an Innovative Problem Solver, empowering students to explore, connect, and grow through meaningful learning experiences. 💡

✨Concept to Creation: Community, STEM, and Inclusion in Action! ✨

We are incredibly proud of former BCHS student, Brady Rosson, and his classmates from the GE Appliances STEM Program! A few years ago, they set out on a simple but powerful mission: to design a picnic table that makes our public spaces better for everyone by eliminating barriers for wheelchair users.

What started as a classroom project with Mr. Connor at BCHS, grew into a remarkable journey:

✅The team presented their prototype to the Shepherdsville City Council, who fully supported the idea.

✅The design was further developed by engineering students at the University of Louisville.

✅GE Appliances engineers brought the final design to life at FirstBuild.

Now, as a UL Mechanical Engineering senior, Brady got to see his vision fully realized! The inclusive table is available at the Shepherdsville city park for all citizens to enjoy.

A special shout-out to Mike Ekbundit for his continued support of BCPS schools and for helping ensure this project came full circle.

This is our Graduate Profile in action, making a real community impact!

🚀 Innovators in Action! 💡

What an inspiring day at Mt. Washington Elementary! We are giving a huge shout-out to the incredible 4th-grade students who hosted their special exhibition, "Ga-Ga Pit Innovative Problem Solvers," on October 1st!

These students took a challenge with their school's Ga-Ga pit and transformed it into a powerful learning experience. Demonstrating the competency of Innovative Problem Solver from the BCPS Graduate Profile, they didn't just notice a problem, they collaborated with local experts to design and create brilliant solutions to make the game adaptive and accessible to all students.

Their dedication as Productive Collaborators and Effective Communicators in presenting their resolution to the school and local community is truly commendable. They're not just playing a game; they're making a positive impact as future Community Contributors!

Way to go, MWES 4th graders! You are an inspiration! 🎉
