In this week's Beyond the Bell, we sat down with Jeff Walker, EL teacher and program coordinator, to talk about what our multilingual learners bring to the table and why the research is clear: bilingualism builds stronger communicators, sharper thinkers, and more resilient students.
Jeff even shared the language he'd learn overnight if he could — Kinyarwanda — because some of the families right here in Bullitt County speak it. That moment says everything about the heart behind this program.
Our multilingual community is growing, and it's making every classroom in BCPS stronger.
