Thank you for your continued flexibility as we navigate this challenging week together. Many primary and secondary roads in the central and southern end of the county remain under water and closed for vehicular traffic. Additionally, the Red Cross and Bullitt County Emergency Management Agency have requested that Lebanon Junction Elementary continue to be utilized as a community shelter through the end of this week. As a result, Bullitt County Public Schools will implement NTI for students from Wednesday, April 9th, through Friday, April 11th.
We realize that NTI will look different in each school over the next three days. For our communities heavily impacted by floodwaters, our first priority is to connect with our families to ensure they and their students are safe and have the resources they need during this difficult and stressful time. If your family has been displaced from your home due to flooding, damage to property, fallen trees, or extended power outages, your student may qualify for additional support and services under the McKinney-Vento Act.
Even if you haven’t been displaced, your family may still be eligible for help with basic needs like food, clothing, or hygiene items through your school’s Family Resource or Youth Services Center.
If your family has been impacted, we encourage you to complete this short survey so we can connect you with support as quickly as possible. (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfOyUnFJ2_4Mkw-Yx_Dgm_eF3NYQ7I-e-Olz-DGKGpmsDygvg/viewform)
For the rest of the week, students will complete assignments from home, and teachers will be available to provide support and communication throughout the day. Buildings will remain open, and staff will be on-site to provide support in the best way possible.
We’re here for you, and we’re committed to walking alongside you during this time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your school with any questions or needs.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for the strength and compassion you continue to show during this time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s school with questions or concerns.

Dear BCPS Families and Staff,
As flooding continues to impact Bullitt County, we want to provide both a schedule update and a reminder that the safety and well-being of our community is our top priority.
🚨 Community Update:
The Kentucky National Guard has been deployed to assist in Lebanon Junction and is on standby in Shepherdsville. Several agencies are currently supporting local efforts in water rescues and evacuations. Most of Lebanon Junction is without power, and shelters remain open and fully stocked at:
North Bullitt High School
Roby Elementary School
Lebanon Junction Elementary School
The Salt River is expected to crest Monday, April 7, at 2 PM at 37.2 feet, well above the 32-foot flood stage. Water levels will begin to recede slowly throughout the week. Please remember: Do not drive around barricades or through flooded areas.
📅 School Schedule Update:
Monday, April 7: Schools will be closed due to continued unsafe conditions.
Tuesday, April 8: Will be our rescheduled Bullitt Day (No school for students).
Wednesday, April 9: Tentative first day back for students. A final decision will be made on Tuesday, but parents and staff should prepare for Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI).
📌 While we will continue making decisions one day at a time, families should begin preparing for the possibility of NTI Days through the remainder of the week (Wednesday–Friday).
We remain committed to keeping you updated as conditions evolve. Thank you for your continued patience, flexibility, and support as we work together to keep our students, staff, and community safe.
