Your commitment to safety, professionalism, and care ensures our students get to and from school safely, and we are truly grateful for the essential service you provide to our community.
✨Today's Safety Tip: At the Bus Stop 🚌
✅At the bus stop, be respectful of others and private property.
✅Arrive Early: Be at your designated bus stop at least five minutes before the scheduled arrival time.
✅Stand Back: Wait in a safe place, at least 10 feet (five giant steps) away from the curb or street.
✅Stay Alert: Do not play, run, or engage in horseplay. Keep electronics put away so you can see and hear the bus approaching and the driver's signals.
✅Be Orderly: When the bus arrives, line up quietly and wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before moving forward.

Earlier this year, Game Warden Logan Reynolds with Kentucky Fish and Wildlife reached out... not to offer a program, but to ask a powerful question: “How can I help?”
When our Youth Services Center shared that families were hoping for meaningful summer opportunities for middle schoolers, Warden Reynolds stepped up in a big way. He offered to lead an in-person Hunter’s Safety Course at no cost to students or the school to teach life-saving emergency skills, weapon safety, ethical hunting practices, wildlife ID, and more.
He even coordinated with Mt. Washington Police and range officials to ensure a safe, well-rounded learning experience.
Warden Reynolds is the definition of Service Before Self and a true Community Contributor. He saw a need and brought the solution, heart-first.

✨Happy White Cane Safety Day! Celebrating independence, mobility, and the achievements of the blind and visually impaired community. ✨
Vision plays a powerful role in how students learn, access information, and connect with the world around them. For students with visual impairments, learning often requires alternative tools and strategies such as Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility skills.
Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) play a vital role in supporting these students. They adapt classroom materials into accessible formats, teach specialized skills for independence, and collaborate with staff to create inclusive learning environments. Their work empowers students with visual impairments to fully engage in academics, social opportunities, and daily life.
This Blindness Awareness Month, as we celebrate White Cane Safety Day, we extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated Teachers of the Visually Impaired. Your work builds the foundation for the independence, mobility, and achievement we honor today.

Today we’re celebrating Charles Sondergeld, Jr. of Charlie Sondergeld Services for his unwavering support of Brooks Elementary and for living out our Core Value Students Matter Most while exemplifying what it means to be a Productive Collaborator.
For the past two years, Mr. Sondergeld has served faithfully on BES' Site-Based Decision Making Council, but his impact extends far beyond that. Whether he’s helping shape key decisions, pitching in at school events, or asking, “What do you need to make that happen?”, Charles brings heart, follow-through, and generosity to everything he does.
From supporting clubs and family nights to making a brand new playground slide possible, he’s always working behind the scenes to create more joy and opportunity for our students.

Jason is a standout Effective Communicator whose leadership and voice have made a lasting impact at the Bullitt County Area Technology Center and beyond.
As a four-year member of the Carpentry and Automotive programs, he has grown into a strong leader through his roles as president and treasurer of the local SkillsUSA chapter. Jason also serves as a State Officer with Kentucky SkillsUSA, recently representing Kentucky at the Washington Leadership Training Institute, where he met with congressional staff and toured our nation’s capital.
